Cross country skiing in Southern Oregon?
Where the Siskiyous
meet the Cascades. Southern Oregon Nordic skiers are blessed with a ring of snow surrounding the Rogue Valley during winter
months.
Our normal ski season starts by early December and sometimes as early as the first week of November. Snow
cover at our usual venues starts getting thin by mid March, but skiers willing to travel to near by Crater Lake, Mt. Shasta,
or Telemark skiers interested in climbing Mt. McLaughlin and Mt. Scott extend their ski season into April, May and beyond.

Gene Brummett
We were sorry to learn that long time club member and friend Gene Brummett passed away
March 29th. Our sympathies go to Marilyn Brummett and Gene's children.
The memorial service for Gene Brummett will be held Friday
April 4th, 2pm at the Community Bible Church (500 10th St. Central Point). All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday April 16th:
Ski tour planned to go from Summit Sno Park up Canal trail to Billie Creek and back via Canal trail, or Petunia.
We will leave Medford at 9:30, call me for meeting place and confirm that you are going. 776-3987
Saturday April 19th:
Hiking to Stein Butte out of Applegate lake, 10 miles, 5 up and 5 down. We are getting ready to do the Rogue Hike
and this will be a training hike. Join us if you like. Leaving Medford at 9:30. 776-3987
Sunday April 20th:
Crater Lake ski, this will be lead by Will Nuessle and me. Intermediate ski, not sure of distance yet, depends on weather.

Saturday May 17th - BLM Rogue River Annual
Clean-up & BBQ
16th annual
cleanup event, which annually brings people together to beautify the Rogue River. Volunteers pick up trash and clean the riverbanks from
Grants Pass to Grave Creek.
At the end of the day, the BLM hosts a free barbeque at
Josephine County Griffin Park. For registered volunteers, a random drawing will also be held for donated items such as t-shirts, mugs and
gift certificates to local businesses.
Registration begins at 9:00 AM at the Hog Creek Boat Ramp, located five miles west of Merlin. Cleanup will take place
rain or shine, so come prepared and dressed for the weather. Volunteers are encouraged to bring snacks and extra drinking
water. Trash bags, gloves and volunteer t-shirts will be provided to those who register.
